G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 13 "Lawman Files (Part 1)"

This is another fun lore building 2-parter that FINALLY has some fighting and action!

But not with G.I. Joe figures ironically.

As always, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check afterwards for Director's commentary!

MORE Transformers!? Why yes, yes please. This one, Deep Cover, is a favorite of mine as I love that Transformers: Siege Sideswipe mold and this makes an awesome colorway for it too. I outfitted him with a Generation 2 Sideswipe accessory set from Nonnef Productions and it just added to the bad-assery of this toy.

In the world of Toyeboxia, the governing body of the planet (called "The Toyebohx") created a law force to help keep toys living on Earth safe. These are the Lawmen typically Sheriff, Cowboy and Police Officer toys who patrol sectors of human homes, and Deep Cover is one of those such Lawmen.

As he's a brand new toy, he's kind of a rookie that just went out into the world for the first time a month or so ago, making him tough- but still green and rough around the edges.

We also see my favorite Pretender Transformer Snarler return along with the rest of his crazy cohorts- the Orange Eye Gang!! This is when we begin to learn why exactly Cobra Commander hired them; and the cute Lego Fabuland toys don't stand a chance.

This episode, particularly this exchange between Snarler's gang and the Fabuland toys was MUCH longer. Actually it was almost an entire episode and I had to stop, look at myself and say: "The comic is called G.I. Joe: 3.75 Division- I can't have an entire episode starring Lego Fabuland toys!". Sooo all that got cut out.

What basically was going to happen I will detail here. The episode starts off with us seeing a caravan of Fabuland Lego cars carrying a cargo of freshly mined Kreateium crystals back with them through a doorway to Toyeboxia.

As they are riding along, one of their scouts, a Racoon on a scooter, comes back and alerts the group that some large creature toys are running around up ahead. The bear is the leader of the group and overhears this, growing nervous for themselves and their precious cargo.

We see these "creatures" and know them to be the Decepticon Pretenders: Snarler and Bristleback. Now, quick side note, Pretender Transformers are amazing to use in the Secret World of Toyeboxia RPG. I would know, I created the RPG and you get so many awesome benefits from using them, it's almost like getting 2 toy characters for the price of one.

You can see in the above collage how the Fabuland animal people start running from Snarler and then the others all seem to just fall over? That's because in this segment, Snarler's Pretender shell was using its Sonar Distorters that are built into the horns to basically "short circuit" their brains.

This attack disables pretty much every one of them except for Charlie Bear, who has a magical amulet that keeps him protected.

Charlie gets out of his car with his special Magma Sword (a magical lava bladed weapon from the Mega Bloks Dragons toy line) and prepares to fight off these two giant monsters.

The panel below I had to crop and turn into the actual panel for this episode, but this wider shot would have shown Charlie Bear about to square off with the Pretender Shells. Not many toys even know about Pretender Transformers so whenever they are encountered, they are just seen as weird Japanese vinyl styled action figures and not secretly holding Transformers.

Unfortunately for Charlie Bear, the inner robot for Snarler is off to the side telepathically controlling his shell to attack and distract him whe Swiny Boar gets the drop on the Lego mini figure.

Now, all of this happened in this episode despite it not being shown. as it was taking place at a distance from Deep Cover and off camera. This blog now provides a good place to showcase these lost scenes which is really awesome as it's good content but took to much away from the plot of the series.

More to come!

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 35: "To go boldly..."

Man a LOT of time has lapsed between putting new episodes of the comic up hasn't it?  Episode 34 debuted on July 7th 2022 and episode 35 wouldn't debut until December 31st 2022- and exactly thirty minutes from midnight to boot!  Alot of insanity has cropped up in my personal life prohibiting me from doing more photo shoots and progressing the story as I wanted it to, but from chaos comes order (so to speak). Episode 35 is monumental because it's the start of a new concurrent story arc that will be taking place parallel to the " The Rescue of Deep Six " story arc I've been showing since 2021.  I'm really enjoying this other story arc and I hope you all well too. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! Okay fun Fact? I totally didn't remember that the first episode of this series was titled "To bodly go...", so it's rather appropriate that this ne...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 38: "Running Out of Time"

Hooray I'm being consecutive again!   This week's episode was another episode that was stuck in development limbo for over a year and I'm just proud of myself for taking the time to sit down and script this finally.  I'm just going to get right into the photo comic and wait for the Director's commentary afterwards to talk about everything. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and enjoy! This episode features photos taken from 2021 and May of 2022 as I had gotten the "Decepticon" base set from Extreme Sets around that time. As I didn't have time to shoot the photos chronologically, I shot episode 33: "The Deep" at the same time as I snapped the photos for this episode and the next two episodes.  So for ME it's been rough to sit on these cool shots for almost a year and a half. I laughed when I got to this episode because this comic has been running for close to 2 and a half years and it took me 39 episodes until th...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 36: "Nervous Man in a Two Dollar Room"

This episode took so much time to finish and it irritated the hell out of me. Those last 3 panels I had gotten severe writers block on and I wasn't sure exactly how to end it.  More on why after the story, as usual click on each photo to expand it for easier reading and then look afterwards for Director's commentary! The title to this episode is a nod to an episode of The Twilight Zone, specifically "A Nervous Man in a Four Dollar Room", the $2.00 refering to how much vintage G.I. Joes used to cost. This episode really stuck me at those last 3 panels. Episode 35 and 36 were both shot at a house in the mountains of Pennsylvania that belongs to the family of my wife's friend. As the kitchen wasn't updated since the 1970's, it makes for a really cool and vintage-looking set for the comic to take place in.  Part of the cause of my writer's block is I wasn't sure how long we would be staying here and didn't want to start a shoot here that would last...
