G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 30 "Dreadnoks: Toy Scalpers"

What? More Dreadnoks hijinks with Road Pig and Cyrus Borg?? Don't threaten me with a good time!

We find Road Pig and Cyrus entering the Flight Hanger of The Deep to go out in search of more living toys to capture.

More Director's commentary information after the last panel and make sure to click each image to expand it for easier reading!

There was a BUNCH of things that got clipped off due to the square frame of Instagram, like the Aero-Viper working on the front module of the Cobra Condor Z25. I didn't show any more of it as, well if you have never seen the Cobra Condor up close the thing is like a pickaxe. It's HUGE. The entire jet would have eclipsed the hanger set, but as I wanted to show some of it, I opted go show just the front half.

Here is an unused shot of the Aero-Viper possibly talking to Road Pig and Cyrus as they walk by, but it was cut as it really wasn't necessary.

I ended up selling the Cobra Condor Z25 off in 2022 because it just didn't "fit" in Cobra Commander's army. Yes it is a flying vehicle and therefore useful to Cobra, but it really is HUGE and easily spotted by humans. Hell it might as well be a drone or remote controlled air plane since it's so big! The above deleted scene and the shot of it in the first panel ate the last time it will ever be seen in the series. It's a great, fun G.I. Joe Toy but just not practical for a living toy to use.

Next up is a little video I recorded of Cyrus flying up into the air with Road Pig on the Jail Bird Air Speeder.

And lastly another shot with me holding them with my hand totally visible making this photo not really usable.

What's fun about that photo is you can see that the Aero-Viper got inside the cockpit of the Cobra Condor and in the background you can also see the Night Vulture working on his Cobra Jet Pack. You see parts of the Jet Pack in Panel 1 and Panel 3, but not the Night Vulture. So it's funny to me how he's there but no one who read the comic over on Instagram even knew.

Oh! I almost forgot. In that last panel there is some dialgoue bubbles that pop up in a brownish sort of color. Those belong to Zanzibar, the last member of the Dreadnok Toy Scalpers team. At the time I shot this episode, I had bought Zanzibar off of eBay with his Air Skiff vehicle and it just didn't arrive in the mail yet.

Here's the shots of him from the eBay auction:

The seller originally was asking $33.49 for him, I offered him $28.00 and he accepted. Zanzibar is notorious for being not very popular with most G.I. Joe collectors and I don't understand why. He's another Dreadnok to add to the gang and he's got his own little flying vehicle, AND rooted hair! What's not to love?

I opted to get this one as it also included the instructions/blue prints and at least one of his 3 accessories. He came with a pistol, a spear and a mallet but as I have a brown version of Monkeywrench's Harpoon Gun, I opted to give it to Zanzibar. It works because it kinda combines the stabbing spear with the ranged combat of the pistol and it worked pretty well with him:

His Air Skiff also has slots on the side to hold the mallet, so the Harpoon Gun leaves Zanzibar one at least 1 hand free to control the vehicle. What made him sor perfect for my Dreadnoks Toy Scalper team is that he's A) An obscure character, B) He's a Dreadnok and C) He came with a flying vehicle. This means him, Gnawgahyde, Road Pig and Cyrus Borg can all hop on their flying vehicles and run down living toys on Earth to capture.

Not gonna lie, that all makes me really excited for them as bad guys.

That's it for the deleted scenes, but there is another shot of a group of B.A.T.s running to attack buuuut this got cut for time AND will be useful in a future episode (hence why you arent seeing it here).

This entire set I put a decent amount of time into constructing (using old paper towel tubes to make "support columns" for example), but I couldn't keep it set up in-between shoots. So, it got dismantled pretty much immediately after I snapped all the photos for this episode.

Stay tuned for more episodes gang!

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 35: "To go boldly..."

Man a LOT of time has lapsed between putting new episodes of the comic up hasn't it?  Episode 34 debuted on July 7th 2022 and episode 35 wouldn't debut until December 31st 2022- and exactly thirty minutes from midnight to boot!  Alot of insanity has cropped up in my personal life prohibiting me from doing more photo shoots and progressing the story as I wanted it to, but from chaos comes order (so to speak). Episode 35 is monumental because it's the start of a new concurrent story arc that will be taking place parallel to the " The Rescue of Deep Six " story arc I've been showing since 2021.  I'm really enjoying this other story arc and I hope you all well too. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! Okay fun Fact? I totally didn't remember that the first episode of this series was titled "To bodly go...", so it's rather appropriate that this ne...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 38: "Running Out of Time"

Hooray I'm being consecutive again!   This week's episode was another episode that was stuck in development limbo for over a year and I'm just proud of myself for taking the time to sit down and script this finally.  I'm just going to get right into the photo comic and wait for the Director's commentary afterwards to talk about everything. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and enjoy! This episode features photos taken from 2021 and May of 2022 as I had gotten the "Decepticon" base set from Extreme Sets around that time. As I didn't have time to shoot the photos chronologically, I shot episode 33: "The Deep" at the same time as I snapped the photos for this episode and the next two episodes.  So for ME it's been rough to sit on these cool shots for almost a year and a half. I laughed when I got to this episode because this comic has been running for close to 2 and a half years and it took me 39 episodes until th...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 36: "Nervous Man in a Two Dollar Room"

This episode took so much time to finish and it irritated the hell out of me. Those last 3 panels I had gotten severe writers block on and I wasn't sure exactly how to end it.  More on why after the story, as usual click on each photo to expand it for easier reading and then look afterwards for Director's commentary! The title to this episode is a nod to an episode of The Twilight Zone, specifically "A Nervous Man in a Four Dollar Room", the $2.00 refering to how much vintage G.I. Joes used to cost. This episode really stuck me at those last 3 panels. Episode 35 and 36 were both shot at a house in the mountains of Pennsylvania that belongs to the family of my wife's friend. As the kitchen wasn't updated since the 1970's, it makes for a really cool and vintage-looking set for the comic to take place in.  Part of the cause of my writer's block is I wasn't sure how long we would be staying here and didn't want to start a shoot here that would last...
