G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 36: "Nervous Man in a Two Dollar Room"

This episode took so much time to finish and it irritated the hell out of me. Those last 3 panels I had gotten severe writers block on and I wasn't sure exactly how to end it.  More on why after the story, as usual click on each photo to expand it for easier reading and then look afterwards for Director's commentary! The title to this episode is a nod to an episode of The Twilight Zone, specifically "A Nervous Man in a Four Dollar Room", the $2.00 refering to how much vintage G.I. Joes used to cost. This episode really stuck me at those last 3 panels. Episode 35 and 36 were both shot at a house in the mountains of Pennsylvania that belongs to the family of my wife's friend. As the kitchen wasn't updated since the 1970's, it makes for a really cool and vintage-looking set for the comic to take place in.  Part of the cause of my writer's block is I wasn't sure how long we would be staying here and didn't want to start a shoot here that would last...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 35: "To go boldly..."

Man a LOT of time has lapsed between putting new episodes of the comic up hasn't it?  Episode 34 debuted on July 7th 2022 and episode 35 wouldn't debut until December 31st 2022- and exactly thirty minutes from midnight to boot!  Alot of insanity has cropped up in my personal life prohibiting me from doing more photo shoots and progressing the story as I wanted it to, but from chaos comes order (so to speak). Episode 35 is monumental because it's the start of a new concurrent story arc that will be taking place parallel to the " The Rescue of Deep Six " story arc I've been showing since 2021.  I'm really enjoying this other story arc and I hope you all well too. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! Okay fun Fact? I totally didn't remember that the first episode of this series was titled "To bodly go...", so it's rather appropriate that this ne...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : Mini Episode "Christmas Time & Rock 'n Roll"

This was a mini 5-panel episode I threw together once inspiration struck on or around January 13th of this year (2023). I was packing up our Christmas tree ornaments and saw my old 1983 Rock 'n Roll figure amongst the decorations. This was the first real time I had a few minutes to fiddle around with him in years and, since the core G.I. Joe: 3.75 Division was in storage...he was a member of that team that was not. This meant I had a character tie back to the core storyline and he would allow me to go into a "spin-off" of sorts. Enter this episode. As per usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check afterwards for more Director's commentary! My cousin Johnny who is a good 10 years my senior, got into G.I. Joe waaaay back in 1982 when it first came out. Then, as far as I can remember, around 1985 or early 1986 he got "to old for it" and gave his entire 1982-to-1985, Joe collection to me.  I found a random photo in my parent's photo...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 34 "The Fate of Deep Six"

Okay this episode, aside from the mini episode with Rock 'n Roll is the most up to date episode of G.I. Joe: 3.75 Division that exists. Which means...we are just about all caught up! Dive right in and as usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check afterwards for Director's commentary and behind the scenes information!! This episode was pieced together entirely from random groups of photos I shot almost a year before putting this episode together. Normally during a photo shoot, I will shoot sequentially where each photo typically happens in the order it was shot. This episode is a Frankensteined amalgamation of photos from Episode 26 and extra shots during episode 31 and 32. I knew there might come a time when I couldn't shoot more scenes for episodes, especially of Dr. Mindbender's laboratory, so I made sure to bank lots of pictures that can be useful down the road.  I think it turned out pretty awesome, it continues where Episode 26 and 32 left...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 33 "Into, The Deep"

This episode was a long time coming honestly. Mainly because it took me 10 months to get time to shoot these photos and also because we ( the audience/readers ) have been aware of Deep Six being missing for the entire run of the series. Today, with this episode, we finally  start getting some closure on that arc with Splashdown, Captain Grid-Iron and Banzai diving down to The Deep  to actively rescue their lost teammate. Stuff is going to get nuts as we go forward the next few episodes, so buckle up people! As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! The Deep, or at least the entrance from the pool, is a cardboard backdrop created by the fine folks over at Extreme-Sets  and this episode would not look as large and grandiose without it.  As these are the stories of living toys, making a base out of cardboard, especially very nice cardboard like this, totally fits within the confines...
