G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 31 "Unorthodox Methods (Part 1)"

Okay, this is the 2nd to last episode that went up in 2021. We are back in Dr. Mindbender's laboratory where he is showing Cobra Commander how he drains the ambient Kreateium energy from toys.

If you look at the first panel, you can see the fate befallen the poor Lego Fabuland mini figures from back in Episode 14.

As per the norm, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last panel for Director's commentary and behind the scenes information!

With this 2-part episode, I really wanted to showcase Dr. Mindbender's laboratory as a real set piece that I could resist for future episodes. So I shot a BUNCH of photos in there before dismantling it. Again I figured toys would use whatever building materials they could find, so they got a hold of some alluminum foil, cardboard and tape and made his laboratory that way.

Since this happened, I got a hold of some Extreme-Sets and as they are cardboard AND designed to be set up and broken down easily, I opted to switch things up.

This goes with the story as Cobra Commander throws more human money at the good doctor to further his research and thus leads to a better more "professional" looking mad scientist laboratory.

As far as deleted scenes go in this episode, we have 2 photos of Dr Mindbender and Cobra Commander sort of "laughing maniacally" together. I opted to not use them as it kind of does "fit" into my version of Cobra Commander. He's more stoic and serious and not really one to throw his hands in the air and cackle like a madman.

Next up I have an alternate video from Panel #9 that didn't work as you can hear my son making loud noises in the background. You can _kinda_ hear him in the actual video I used, but it was low enough in volume that I was still able to use it.

Onto Part 2 of "Unorthodox Methods"!

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 35: "To go boldly..."

Man a LOT of time has lapsed between putting new episodes of the comic up hasn't it?  Episode 34 debuted on July 7th 2022 and episode 35 wouldn't debut until December 31st 2022- and exactly thirty minutes from midnight to boot!  Alot of insanity has cropped up in my personal life prohibiting me from doing more photo shoots and progressing the story as I wanted it to, but from chaos comes order (so to speak). Episode 35 is monumental because it's the start of a new concurrent story arc that will be taking place parallel to the " The Rescue of Deep Six " story arc I've been showing since 2021.  I'm really enjoying this other story arc and I hope you all well too. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! Okay fun Fact? I totally didn't remember that the first episode of this series was titled "To bodly go...", so it's rather appropriate that this ne...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 39: "Escape- Part 1"

It's taken over a year but we're finally  getting close to wrapping up " The Search for Deep Six " story arc that's been under the surface for the entire series. We are just one  episode away from hitting 40 of these photo comics I've created and it blows my mind just thinking about it. I really think keeping to a 10-panel format works extremely well at keeping me from going to extreme and making 25+ panel photo comics like I used to do. This episode kicks off our 2-part season finale ending with episode #40 next week. More G.I. Joe: 3.75 Division episodes will be coming, but closer to November as I have to shoot more episodes starring Rock 'n Roll, Dial Tone and Pathfinder ( that I hinted at back in episodes 35 and 36 ). The series will follow them for a while but touch back on the core 3.75 Division team periodically until I have time to set up and shoot those episodes.  Okay enough of me jabbering, as per the usual, click the photos below to enlarge the...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 38: "Running Out of Time"

Hooray I'm being consecutive again!   This week's episode was another episode that was stuck in development limbo for over a year and I'm just proud of myself for taking the time to sit down and script this finally.  I'm just going to get right into the photo comic and wait for the Director's commentary afterwards to talk about everything. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and enjoy! This episode features photos taken from 2021 and May of 2022 as I had gotten the "Decepticon" base set from Extreme Sets around that time. As I didn't have time to shoot the photos chronologically, I shot episode 33: "The Deep" at the same time as I snapped the photos for this episode and the next two episodes.  So for ME it's been rough to sit on these cool shots for almost a year and a half. I laughed when I got to this episode because this comic has been running for close to 2 and a half years and it took me 39 episodes until th...
