G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 5: "New Recruits (Part 4)"

The finale of the "New Recruits" 4-Part Story Arc is here! I had fun with this shoot, if it's not evident by the stuff from the Director's commentary at the end of last post.

Be sure to click the photos to view them clearer and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary!

This was one of those episodes that I ended up with an uneven amount of photos/videos and went "DAMN- I'm 2 panels short!". So I had to improvise. The shot with Raptor was supposed to be in this episode, but I totally fudged it and shot 2 quickie photos of Dr. Mindbender and Cobra Commander inside the mini-sub from the Cobra Bugg vehicle. This worked out because we had only heard about Cobra Commander up until this point and I felt it was a good way to tease him and also about what happened to Deep Six and some other missing G.I. Joe. You can't notice on the Instagram posts, but here in the photos original wider format, you can juuuust about make out a shelf
with other joes in the top left corners.

There was also an alternative second panel for this episode that was the exact same photo used as the last panel in Episode 4.

It's funny, because what I did instead of reusing that photo, was to reuse a photo from Episode 5 instead LoL. I told you guys I had run out of photos for the final part, I was desperate.

Another noteworthy thing is this is the first episode since the Prelude episode where there is not one video clip. Initially there was supposed to be a scene when Countdown and Fast Draw (or maybe Fast Draw was just there as a gag? I can't remember) "float down" from their look out posts to see the new vehicles.

Needless to say, none of these worked quite right and I scrapped them in favor of just using an un-used photo of Countdown from Episode 2 (which was just a different angle of how he was shot in that episode) and that worked just fine.

Next episode switches the focus to the Cobra side of things for a 3-part story arc that turned this entire comic series on its ear. If you are a fan of other 80's Hasbro toys, you have to check them out!

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 35: "To go boldly..."

Man a LOT of time has lapsed between putting new episodes of the comic up hasn't it?  Episode 34 debuted on July 7th 2022 and episode 35 wouldn't debut until December 31st 2022- and exactly thirty minutes from midnight to boot!  Alot of insanity has cropped up in my personal life prohibiting me from doing more photo shoots and progressing the story as I wanted it to, but from chaos comes order (so to speak). Episode 35 is monumental because it's the start of a new concurrent story arc that will be taking place parallel to the " The Rescue of Deep Six " story arc I've been showing since 2021.  I'm really enjoying this other story arc and I hope you all well too. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! Okay fun Fact? I totally didn't remember that the first episode of this series was titled "To bodly go...", so it's rather appropriate that this ne...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 30 "Dreadnoks: Toy Scalpers"

What? More Dreadnoks hijinks with Road Pig and Cyrus Borg?? Don't threaten me with a good time! We find Road Pig and Cyrus entering the Flight Hanger of The Deep  to go out in search of more living toys to capture.  More Director's commentary information after the last panel and make sure to click each image to expand it for easier reading! There was a BUNCH of things that got clipped off due to the square frame of Instagram, like the Aero-Viper working on the front module of the Cobra Condor Z25 . I didn't show any more of it as, well if you have never seen the Cobra Condor up close the thing is like a pickaxe. It's HUGE. The entire jet would have eclipsed the hanger set, but as I wanted to show some of it, I opted go show just the front half.  Here is an unused shot of the Aero-Viper possibly talking to Road Pig and Cyrus as they walk by, but it was cut as it really wasn't necessary.  I ended up selling the Cobra Condor Z25 off in 2022 because it just didn't ...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : Mini Episode "Christmas Time & Rock 'n Roll"

This was a mini 5-panel episode I threw together once inspiration struck on or around January 13th of this year (2023). I was packing up our Christmas tree ornaments and saw my old 1983 Rock 'n Roll figure amongst the decorations. This was the first real time I had a few minutes to fiddle around with him in years and, since the core G.I. Joe: 3.75 Division was in storage...he was a member of that team that was not. This meant I had a character tie back to the core storyline and he would allow me to go into a "spin-off" of sorts. Enter this episode. As per usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check afterwards for more Director's commentary! My cousin Johnny who is a good 10 years my senior, got into G.I. Joe waaaay back in 1982 when it first came out. Then, as far as I can remember, around 1985 or early 1986 he got "to old for it" and gave his entire 1982-to-1985, Joe collection to me.  I found a random photo in my parent's photo...
