G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 20 "The Fall of Destro (Part 2)"

Man we are just 20 episodes in and there is still more crazy stuff to show off yet.

This next episode is where I tried to kick things up a notch and really showcase how my version of Cobra Commander is not to be underestimated.

The same as the previous 19 episodes, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary!!

The entire point of this episode was to show just who this toy of Cobra Commander really is as a villian. Writing for villainous leaders can be extremely "cookie-cutter" and its hard to not get sucked into certain tropes (although I did ape a line from Thanos..).

When writing his backstory I made sure to keep some traits about his personality at the forefront: Ruthless, No-Nonsense and Efficient. This Cobra Commander doesn't needlessly kill his minions or troops as it's a waste of resources. He doesn't rule through fear, more so through unity. He and everyone else are Cobra. Together, they, are Cobra. That's what makes them strong. They have units for specific tasks. They have troops numbering in the dozens. They have a massive, heavily fortified complex. Cobra is, as living toys, seen as strength within their organization, so the Vipers and what not are often happy to be part of something as expansive as this.

The only thing that really changed for this episode was Panel #9. At the time I didn't have the right phone software to do photo edits, but thankfully now I do. Taking advantage of it, I added a blast effect with some tips from Eric over @ToysAndTomFoolery on Instagram on how to go about doing it.

It really adds more to the scene which before that just looked like Cobra Commander sticking his gun in Destro's chest.

Here's the original panel as it appeared on Instagram on August 3rd 2022:

More next on the final part of "The Fall of Destro (Part 3)"!

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 35: "To go boldly..."

Man a LOT of time has lapsed between putting new episodes of the comic up hasn't it?  Episode 34 debuted on July 7th 2022 and episode 35 wouldn't debut until December 31st 2022- and exactly thirty minutes from midnight to boot!  Alot of insanity has cropped up in my personal life prohibiting me from doing more photo shoots and progressing the story as I wanted it to, but from chaos comes order (so to speak). Episode 35 is monumental because it's the start of a new concurrent story arc that will be taking place parallel to the " The Rescue of Deep Six " story arc I've been showing since 2021.  I'm really enjoying this other story arc and I hope you all well too. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! Okay fun Fact? I totally didn't remember that the first episode of this series was titled "To bodly go...", so it's rather appropriate that this ne...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 30 "Dreadnoks: Toy Scalpers"

What? More Dreadnoks hijinks with Road Pig and Cyrus Borg?? Don't threaten me with a good time! We find Road Pig and Cyrus entering the Flight Hanger of The Deep  to go out in search of more living toys to capture.  More Director's commentary information after the last panel and make sure to click each image to expand it for easier reading! There was a BUNCH of things that got clipped off due to the square frame of Instagram, like the Aero-Viper working on the front module of the Cobra Condor Z25 . I didn't show any more of it as, well if you have never seen the Cobra Condor up close the thing is like a pickaxe. It's HUGE. The entire jet would have eclipsed the hanger set, but as I wanted to show some of it, I opted go show just the front half.  Here is an unused shot of the Aero-Viper possibly talking to Road Pig and Cyrus as they walk by, but it was cut as it really wasn't necessary.  I ended up selling the Cobra Condor Z25 off in 2022 because it just didn't ...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 18 "Don't Splash in the Pool"

This is a very video heavy episode, just because moving water carries more weight when seen in motion versus a still photograph. I had a lot  of fun shooting this episode, and it is easily one of my favorites of the first 20 I shot. As per usual, click on each image or video to view them clearer and check after the last panel for Director's commentary and behind the scenes information! This episode was a TON of fun to shoot. I took a large zip lock plastic baggie and actually put my cell phone inside it in order to get alot of these underwater shots. It was a BIG risk but I felt the results came out really fun and awesome. Splashdown is one of my favorite Autobot Pretenders, and he just has a really slick look. His armor reminds me of the Shocking Shark Battle Beasts  playset, and as Battle Beasts started in Japan as Beastformers , part of me wonders if it was intentional or not. There were not alot of deleted scenes in this episode, but there were some alternate ones where I ...
