G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 12 "More Than One Way to Skin a Cat"

Okay this episode, this one is a fun one and the genesis of the main concept was my wife Beth's idea.

I had a TMNT 1994 Scratch figure 100% complete and in loose condition. We were in need of money and the vintage TMNT market spiked like crazy in 2021 and I went on eBay and saw how much this guy was selling for: upwards of $1000 bucks just LOOSE.

So I couldn't justify hanging onto him at that price and let him go. My wife said I should take photos of it before I sold it and make a story with him while I had the opportunity. That sparked something in my brain and I had a great idea, which became this episode. Enjoy.

Oh and be sure to click each image to expand it for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary!

This episode came together REALLY quickly and is one of my favorites out of the series so far. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to once again further expand on the Secret World of Toyeboxia lore and also include another Hasbro toy: a C.O.P.S. figure! Including Nightmare (aka Cyrus Borg) was really a no brainer for me because C.O.P.S. figures are basically HUGE G.I. Joes and a cyborg toy can very easily be re-programmed by Cobra for their own use.

Toy Scalpers carry a different meaning here in the real world, but in the world of Toyeboxia it refers to toys that hunt, capture and sell other living toys for financial gain.

Naturally the Dreadnoks were the perfect Cobra operatives for this. Hell they are practically made to do this type of stuff.

The Road Pig figure who makes his debut is actually Sonic Fighters Road Pig from 1992 (but the cardback says 1990, so go figure).

I remember the 1988 version being cool but I never got him. Well in spring of 2021 I had an opportunity to score this Road Pig and I was so excited to add an actual Dreadnoks member to my Joe collection. I've had a Dreadnoks Swamp Fire since I was like 6 or 7 years old (and beat the tar out of it too) so now I had someone to ride it.

Little known fun Fact? If you get the 1993 Battle Corps Night Creeper Leader (the orange and black one), he comes with the 1988 Road Pig's Spiked Battle Shield and High-Powered Crossbow accessories....which (by accident or design) go perfectly with Sonic Fighters Road Pig.

These accessories were molded differently by the clips so you gotta use fun tack or some other tricks to get them to stay on right. I was stupidly excited when I found this all out because it was just too perfect a pairing. Then I went on eBay and bought his cinder block hammer loose and bam: meet "California Beach Punk Road Pig"!

I totally fell in love writing for these two characters and as you read the series, I use them again often. The Jail Bird Air Speeder vehicle that Cyrus Borg drives is actually perfect for the world of living toys too so every thing in this episode just lined up too perfectly.

Onto the next episode!

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 35: "To go boldly..."

Man a LOT of time has lapsed between putting new episodes of the comic up hasn't it?  Episode 34 debuted on July 7th 2022 and episode 35 wouldn't debut until December 31st 2022- and exactly thirty minutes from midnight to boot!  Alot of insanity has cropped up in my personal life prohibiting me from doing more photo shoots and progressing the story as I wanted it to, but from chaos comes order (so to speak). Episode 35 is monumental because it's the start of a new concurrent story arc that will be taking place parallel to the " The Rescue of Deep Six " story arc I've been showing since 2021.  I'm really enjoying this other story arc and I hope you all well too. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check after the last photo for some more Director's commentary! Okay fun Fact? I totally didn't remember that the first episode of this series was titled "To bodly go...", so it's rather appropriate that this ne...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 38: "Running Out of Time"

Hooray I'm being consecutive again!   This week's episode was another episode that was stuck in development limbo for over a year and I'm just proud of myself for taking the time to sit down and script this finally.  I'm just going to get right into the photo comic and wait for the Director's commentary afterwards to talk about everything. As usual, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and enjoy! This episode features photos taken from 2021 and May of 2022 as I had gotten the "Decepticon" base set from Extreme Sets around that time. As I didn't have time to shoot the photos chronologically, I shot episode 33: "The Deep" at the same time as I snapped the photos for this episode and the next two episodes.  So for ME it's been rough to sit on these cool shots for almost a year and a half. I laughed when I got to this episode because this comic has been running for close to 2 and a half years and it took me 39 episodes until th...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode 36: "Nervous Man in a Two Dollar Room"

This episode took so much time to finish and it irritated the hell out of me. Those last 3 panels I had gotten severe writers block on and I wasn't sure exactly how to end it.  More on why after the story, as usual click on each photo to expand it for easier reading and then look afterwards for Director's commentary! The title to this episode is a nod to an episode of The Twilight Zone, specifically "A Nervous Man in a Four Dollar Room", the $2.00 refering to how much vintage G.I. Joes used to cost. This episode really stuck me at those last 3 panels. Episode 35 and 36 were both shot at a house in the mountains of Pennsylvania that belongs to the family of my wife's friend. As the kitchen wasn't updated since the 1970's, it makes for a really cool and vintage-looking set for the comic to take place in.  Part of the cause of my writer's block is I wasn't sure how long we would be staying here and didn't want to start a shoot here that would last...
