G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 17 "Mad Science (Part 2)"

Part 2 of "Mad Science" starts now! Click on each photo to expand it for easier reading and then look at the director's commentary after the last photo! I just want to say that I LOVE the Interrogator figure. The look of this guy is just sick . The helmet, the gear sculpted onto him, this guy just has a presence to him. In this comic, the best way to describe him is Darth Vader & Jason Voorhees rolled into one: he's intimidating, tough as hell and NOT someone you want to run into the bad side of.  If you look at him, there is a white string around his torso. It's hard to see, but on that string are old O-Rings, specifically from all the G.I. Joe action figures he's de-animated over the years. You can see it clearer in the deleted panel below, which is the same as Panel 2 but just taken from a different angle. I couldn't use this photo due to Instagram photos only being square in shape. Had I used this one, Cobra Commander would have been cut out and I...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 16 "Mad Science (Part 1)"

More Cobra stories are always fun stories to be honest. Cobra Commander has a larger facility then Captain Grid-Iron and his team could ever dream of, and recreating it in photos is tricky but I think I pulled it off.  Click on each photo to expand it for easier reading, and check out the photos after them for Director's commentary and behind the scenes information! For this episode I really wanted to showcase what Cobra's base, The Deep  (no relation to the movie of the same name), looked like but also had to decide what a base would look like that 3.75" tall toys could build.  They can't build with wood or nails or metal really, but cardboard covered with aluminum foil and other discarded objects seemed to be the right direction to go with this base.  This part is Dr. Mindbender's laboratory and is where all his machines and experiments are located. His teleportation machine is a hodge podge built from the packaging of two Skeleflex kits, a chrome gold sprue from...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 15 "Arise, Destro, Arise!"

For some reason, self-contained episodes of G.I. Joe: 3.75 Division  are fewer in number for me. I guess I just like telling larger stories and getting hampered with less photo space forces me to break them into multiple parts. This episode was really rough for me to write and basically it just exists to provide some backstory to a future story arc idea that I had. Check it out below and be sure to click each image to expand it for easier reading and then look at the director's commentary after the last photo. Okay so here is the history with this episode. I shot all these photos on May 24th 2021, only a day after I shot Episode #1 of this series.  At that time, the plan was a very G.I.Joe centered photo comic set in the Secret World of Toyeboxia RPG universe with very little non-Joe toys showing up at all.  I had no real plans for these photos, just a loose story with a group of roughly 10 Iron Grenadiers figures led by Darklon. They were hunting for an Iron Grenadiers D...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 14 "Lawman Files (Part 2)"

Part 2 of "Lawman Files" starts now so stop reading this and see what happens next! Oh but to make reading easier, click on the images to enlarge them and also check afterwards for Director's commentary! The line Deep Cover says to himself before starting to fire on the Decepticons is directly from Issue #1 of the Marvel Transformers: Generation 2 comic series, taken straight from G2 Sideswipe. It was a good line, and a great homage seeing as he's using all the same gear as in the G2 comic. This episode was a mess  to piece together for this post. Why? Well some photos were in the first draft of episode 13, some were shot weeks afterwards so the date stamps are for a different month, etc. Needless to say it took me a few minutes to get everything organized properly. These 3 panels were supposed to take place right after Snarler tells Charlie Bear that they aren't going anywhere. Then Perry Panda, grabs a blaster and tries to shoot Snarler. This little exchange wa...

G.I. Joe- 3.75 Division Episode : 13 "Lawman Files (Part 1)"

This is another fun lore building 2-parter that FINALLY has some fighting and action!  But not with G.I. Joe figures ironically.  As always, click the photos to enlarge them for easier viewing and check afterwards for Director's commentary!   MORE Transformers!? Why yes, yes please. This one, Deep Cover, is a favorite of mine as I love that Transformers: Siege Sideswipe mold and this makes an awesome colorway for it too. I outfitted him with a Generation 2 Sideswipe accessory set from  Nonnef Productions  and it just added to the bad-assery of this toy. In the world of Toyeboxia, the governing body of the planet (called " The Toyebohx ") created a law force to help keep toys living on Earth safe. These are the Lawmen typically Sheriff, Cowboy and Police Officer toys who patrol sectors of human homes, and Deep Cover is one of those such Lawmen. As he's a brand new toy, he's kind of a rookie that just went out into the world for the first time a month or so ago, m...
